Carolyna Hutchings

Carolyna Hutchings (@hrmcarolyna) stepped out with just a simple intention, be in our eyes. You can’t miss the sun even if you tried, can you? Rocking a Yellow custom-made one-shoulder maxi dress. A plunging neckline connecting the sleeved side with the sleeveless, teamed up with a thigh-high slit to offer a good serving of beautiful skin. Extra details featured yellow feathers on the one shoulder and a double-layered side train sweeping gracefully on the opposite side. A clear Phoenix Queen statement for the Sun goddess.

Chioma Ikokwu

Wearing a  Blue Sheath high neck applique dress, Chioma Ikokwu (@chiomagoodhair) was all out for royalty, dripping a very long feathery layer finished train on one side. The train extended rather craftily upwards to form a feather-like shoulder piece without compromising the waist. A studded cupped burst applique plunged downwards in a deliberate slant pointing towards a thigh-high slit. Combined with side cutouts on both sides of the dress to give a more pronounced hourglass figure. The long-sleeved net gave a beautiful blend of skin and blue applique.

What she said about it

“Blue is for royalty”

“Who else is incredibly proud of our Nigerian designers? Even on the show, I made sure I repped our local brands 80% of the time because the world needs to see what we’re capable of.”

Toyin Lawani-Adebayo

Appearing elegantly in an animal print puff shoulder ball dress, less was never expected of the fashion queen Toyin Lawani-Adebayo (@theunstoppabletoyinlawani). A hairy finish for manes poured down from the lion head on both sides of the dress to give a roaring finish. With an African hairdo for a crown, she stepped in to rule this jungle!

What she said about it

“They said Eko Glam Theme and what is Lagos without Roar and the energy of a lion to survive here in Lagos”

“What is Eko without our amazing cultural hairdos?”

Bonus!

Toyin took it to an extra level! A two-way outfit. A second look showed her still in her animal print, but only on the torso. Turns out to be a skirt and blouse. She matched it with black pants and it didn’t look any less elegant. Seems she will be bringing in lots of surprises.

Iyabo Ojo

Iyabo Ojo (@iyaboojofespris) really did bring Eko and Glam together with a more African look rocking a blue Silk Aso Oke dress. A beaded four petal-like full design Aso Oke breast to arm cape girded her burst rather beautifully, nicely littering the outfit with red, blue, yellow, and green. A neatly folded Roman stripped Crowntex Aso Oke fabric served for a shoulder sash, also known as Ipele. The same fabric twisted in neat rolls of spirals and knots to form the Gele head tie that crowned her head.

“Representing Lagos in our culture is very important to me, we command class, fashion, style, color, glamour & fun but above all, we represent our culture with so much finesse and style…”

Mariam Timmer

Mariam Timmer (@mariamadeyemitimmer) presented a hot serving of curves and confidence,  in a Waist Snatched custom-made Net Lace dress. A strappy off-shoulder princess silhouette finishes, and carefully picked skin colour blended netting, brought out an embroidered female physique, with everything else fading into the background. Safe to say the dress wore her perfectly.

What she said about it

I was a princess made of ashes; there is nothing left of me to burn. Now it’s time for a queen to rise.

Laura Ikeji

Laura Ikeji (@lauraikeji) was unfortunately absent at the premiere. I guess that is what super moms do. However, if she were to grace the cameras at the RHOLagos premiere, it would have been hot steps in probably an @ericamoorebrand dress, seeing it is her favourite. Laura Ikeji is an all-around dresser and has slayed outfits by @elegantebytiannah@julyetpeters, and others. So it is with great excitement looking forward to her fashion come 8th of April.

I believe that outfit might just be the right amount of confidence boost you needed.
